Default Switching between characters

I don't think this has been posted as a suggestion yet, but if it has I'm sorry for the new thread lol.

Anyway, I'd like to have some way to switch between characters on the same account WITHOUT having to log out and log back in all the time.

If there was a function similar to Windows 'switch users' (for those of us that have multiple users accounts on our computers they know what I'm talking about) it would make it quick for people to swap characters.

Couple of reasons I think this a good idea: first it might make it quicker for slower loaders to switch to a different character for a specific team build, event, etc; for those of us that use storage to tranfer items from one character to another or to our 'pack mule' it would make this quicker as well.

Mainly I just think it would save some people some time (and some aggrivation) not having to retype their password all the time.

Thoughts?

Yes it has, it is sugested every week. Read the stickies or you'll get burned.

Idea cannot be implemented, security reasons - stated by Anet. But there is a way you can auto-logon. Don't know how to do it myself, im sure someone does, wait for the right post to come along.

hmmm, my apologies. I browsed the stickies but didn't see the topic. I'll have to look up whats said about the 'security issues'. Thanks though.

Well it has, 10000001 times.

It has been stated that it will never happen for account security issues.

The issues are that if you are in an E-Cafe or w/e and somebody gets onto your game they can only damage one character at any one time. There is a command line you can add to your GW shortcut that logs you in automatically, even after log-out if you want instant character switching, this is the nearest thing to it.

"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -password=MooMooKazoo

Make your Shortct for GW look like that inside, and make sure it has "remember my email address" ticked, and you should log in without needing to type anything.
